Welcome to episode 61 of The PE Umbrella Podcast. This week, I dive into more reflections and delve into the world of language and motivation, dancing around both issues as I seek to suggest ways in which the language you use can impact your students. In the episode I cover thoughts around Carol Dweck's Growth Mindset concept and guide you towards The Physical Educator to become a YETI as well as share an inspiring 'Yet' story from the professional world of sport. I also question the use of 'Practice' as part of teaching vocabulary and voice how I think it can be seen as a negative and uninspiring way to look at doing things. I offer up alternatives and set you, the listeners a challenge ready to take up in your own teaching this week. So what are you waiting for? Come on over and join me Under the Umbrella!

Welcome to episode 60 of The PE Umbrella Podcast. In this episode I am joined by our second EVER repeat guest, Primary School PE Co-ordinator and models based practice advocate, Ryan Forwood. It was a real pleasure to speak with Ryan again and this episode runs as more of an informal discussion than a Q+A. I check in with what Ryan has been doing at his school in the past 9 months and discover how he is able to serve morning, lunch and after school clubs five days a week! He also shares with us his major successes and insights into the Sport Education and Co-operative learning models, highlighting how persistence pays off. Not people to shy away from controversy, we also dive into the topic of dodgeball and whether we feel it has a place in any school setting and what lessons (if any) can be learned from it! So fasten your seatbelt and Come join us both 'Under the PE Umbrella'
