Hello and Welcome to The PE Umbrella Podcast Episode 93!
In this episode, I bring you my deep thoughts on a book I recently read titled 'The Power of Moments'. Sometimes when you read a book, it just clicks. The way it translates to the education sector is seamless and in my opinion a must read. Everybody in the world has a series of defining moments in their life, and the great thing is, we can be the author of these ourselves...We don't just have to let them happen to us! I explore how we, as teachers, can create 'defining moments' for the children we teach so to leave the greatest legacy. I discuss the Peak-End rule and the four Pillars that can contribute to creating a 'peak/defining' moment and how you should consider doing so in the classes you teach!

Welcome to episode 85 of The PE Umbrella podcast! This week I am delighted to bring you a new game creation of my own, made up using a combination of wonderful existing games. I have always found it pretty hard to 'completely' switch off from 'work mode' and during my recent 3 week holiday, I had the urge to create a new game ready for my return to the Holiday Camps that we run at Sporting Influence. As such, 'Yoda Rescue' or 'Capture the Yoda' was born! I have trialled this game out several times now on my return to the activity camps, tweaking it as I go and in this episode I bring you the most successful version to date. Taking you through step by step, I explain how to set the game up, how to introduce the rules and which progressions to add. To assist you in your listening, head over to www.peumbrella.com and pick up the FREE accompanying PDF of Yoda Rescue. Simply find it on the podcasts page or type 'Yoda' into the search bar and the episode will pop right up.

Welcome to episode 83 of the PE Umbrella Podcast. In this reflection episode, I put the education world to rights about the emphasis it has on 'measurement' and how, in my opinion, all it seems to be achieving is churning out robots at the end of it. Let's drop the measurement and data driven education system and instead look at helping children find their inner genius, develop confidence and work on life skills/knowledge that really matters!
